COVID: Perfect Platform to address Obesity

When COVID hit this past spring, shutdowns were only supposed to last 14 days to flatten the curve; instead, the shutdown went on for months, leading to devastatingly high alcohol use, psych drugs, poverty and obesity rate have climbed higher than ever.

The CDC recently released a sobering report — obesity rates are now 35%+ in 12 states, up from 7 states in 2017. Nearly 20% of children under the age of 18 are now obese.

African American women have the highest obesity rates or being overweight compared to other groups in the United States. About 4 out of 5 African American women are overweight or obese.

COVID would have been the perfect platform for Black Lives Matter and the World Health Organization to help communities fight off a virus by providing tools to get their health back. Do you know how many Urban Gardens, Community Centers, gym memberships and cooking classes to promoting healthy eating could have been provided to people who need these tools most to regain control of their health in NY alone where $5Billion was spent on masks and ventilators? Exercise and healthy eating are much better alternatives than turning to alcohol or drugs or unhealthy eating during times of stress.

Instead, you have BLM driving further race division through riots while further destroying communities and peoples’ lives. And for what? What has been gained?

We have professional sports players promoting BLM who have the luxury to workout with personal trainers, eat clean with an endless supply of equipment to perform at their best. I found it ironic that not one athlete took 2020 as a year to empower communities with tools to reclaim their health; instead, it feels like BLM is promoting a victim mindset and creating racial tension that is not really there. The media is used as a tool to create this racial tension.

We have Kamala Harris, living in a $5.4 Million dollar estate in CA with an additional home in DC and Joe Biden with a beautiful estate of his own talking about masks and not once have either of them discussed empowering communities with the right tools to reclaim their health.

Between Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’s attitude about masks, shutdowns and closing down charter schools, you have to wonder what is their real agenda? Not to mention while Donald Trump came into office as a billionaire who gave back his entire salary, I find it interesting in contrast how Joe Biden became so wealthy AFTER serving in the government for the last 40+ years.

Platinum Plan

President Trump is building on his record of Promises Made, Promises Kept, has released the Platinum Plan for Black America, which will uplift Black communities across the country through a $500 billion investment. After years of neglect by Democrat politicians, Black Americans have finally found a true advocate in President Trump, who is working tirelessly to deliver greater opportunity, security, prosperity, and fairness to their communities.

President Trump is also advocating for school of choice and Charter School vouchers so parents have the freedom to select the best education possible for their kids. Not everyone can afford to live in a half million dollar neighborhood; school of choice is a bid deal to close the wealth gap.
