The UN “Human Rights” Council

I recently had a spat with someone on social media who said if I support President Trump, I don’t support the LBGTQ. Several others jumped into the conversation and pointed to an article that slaughtered President Trump in “Time” Magazine, which is owned by In 2019, announced that China’s Alibaba would become the exclusive provider of Salesforce to customers in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, and Salesforce will become the exclusive enterprise CRM product suite sold by Alibaba.

Nevermind that President Trump has helped advance the LGBTQ Community.

Highlights include:

Nominated Patrick Bumatay, an openly gay Filipino man, as a judge in the important to 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals

President Trump administration announced that 200,000 uninsured Americans would gain access to HIV-preventive medicines at no cost.

On February 20, Richard Grenell was appointed Acting Director of National Intelligence, becoming the first openly gay DNI and cabinet member in American history. Not long ago, these words would have been an impossibility.

In his 2019 State of the Union Address, President Trump asked Congress to make the needed budget commitment to eliminate the HIV and AIDS epidemic in the United States within ten years.

President Trump announced his “Initiative to Decriminalize Homosexuality” around the World.

These initiatives fell on deaf ears; no matter how much I urge others to research information, the pleas fall on deaf ears. It doesn’t seem to bother these individuals that Joe Biden wants the United States to work even closer with the United Nations by defunding our police to work closely with theirs. Nancy Pelosi has openly said she wants to contact the UN regarding our 2020 Presidential election.

And the United Nations Human Rights Council should concern all of us.

United Nations Human Rights Council

The Human Rights Council is an inter-governmental body within the United Nations system made up of 47 States responsible for promoting and protecting all human rights worldwide. It can discuss all thematic human rights issues and situations that require its attention throughout the year.

Despite herding 1 million Uighurs, ethnic Kazakhs and Kyrgyz, and members of religious minority groups into concentration camps, China still earned a spot on the UN Human Rights Council. These “camps” are a systematic effort to eradicate their ethnic and cultural identity and religious beliefs and control their population growth. Countless publicly available reports of torture, rape, forced ingestion of drugs, sexual assault, and other horrific abuses occurring in these camps have been documented based on the experiences of those who have escaped.

The CCP has absolute control over law enforcement and the judicial system, and it uses both to stifle calls from Chinese citizens for freedom, human rights, and the rule of law. Authorities regularly detain those who do not conform to CCP ideology.

Nor was the UN vocal enough when Iran publicly hung a man on homosexuality charges related to Iran’s anti-gay laws violations. On November 8, 2019, 85% of UNHRC reps praised Iran on human rights record.

A day after Iranian human rights lawyer Nasrin Sotoudeh has been sentenced to a total of 38 years in prison and 148 lashes, The UN Women’s rights committee elected Iran to serve as judge of global women’s rights complaints. Iran has the worst human rights record in the World. Iran executes more people per year than China and Saudi Arabia. Women are stoned to death for false charges of adultery. Gays and rape victims are regularly executed.

Have you ever wondered what children at UN-funded schools and kindergartens in Gaza and Ramallah (Palestinian Territories)? At a school graduation party, Palestinian children danced with guns, then a boy armed with a knife stabbed Jews. PLO, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad use Islam as a justification for terrorism against innocent Jews. Israel pulled out of Gaza in 2005. There is no occupation in Gaza. The humanitarian crisis and the violence is all created by Hamas, a terrorist group which victimizes Israelis and Palestinians.

After Israel gave a land (Gaza) for “peace,” the Arabs voted a terrorist organization into power and so far have launched tens of thousands of rockets at civilian targets in Israel.

This is the reality of daily life for thousands of Israelis within rocket range of terrorists in the Gaza Strip.

Where is the wall-to-wall international coverage? Why isn’t this making headline news?

Trump Administration and the Human Rights Council

The Trump administration urged UN member states to take immediate action to reform the Council before it became irreparable.

In 2018, President Donald Trump withdrew the United States from the United Nations Human Rights Council due to its well-established pattern of anti-Israel bias and membership rules that allow the election of the World’s worst human rights abusers to seats on the Council, including Cuba, Russia, Venezuela, and China.

The United States’ commitment to human rights consists of far more than just words. President Trump and his team have punished human rights abusers in Xinjiang, Myanmar, Iran, and elsewhere through the State Department’s action.

Michael R. Pompeo, our Secretary Of State, said, “The United States’ commitment to human rights consists of far more than just words. Through the State Department’s action, we have punished human rights abusers in Xinjiang, Myanmar, Iran, and elsewhere. Our commitments are spelled out clearly in the UN’s Declaration, and in our record of action. The United States is a force for good in the world, and always will be.”

This past August, Mike Popeo announced that the United States initiated the restoration of virtually all UN sanctions on Iran lifted under UN Security Council Resolution 2231. Mike went on to say, “Our message is very, very simple: the United States will never allow the World’s largest state sponsor of terrorism to freely buy and sell planes, tanks, missiles, and other kinds of conventional weapons. These UN sanctions will continue the arms embargo”.
